ISEC 2009 DOCTORAL AND MASTERS' THESIS SYMPOSIUM (DAMSYM 2009)

The main objective of the event, as part of ISEC 2009, is to offer an opportunity for persons who have obtained, Ph.D., or Masters' (ME/MTech/MSc(Engg.) or equivalent) degrees during the period August 1,2007 - July 31,2008, in areas related to SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, to meet and share their research experiences, to present their work to the larger community for external review and feedback. Participants should submit a paper not exceeding TEN pages and follow the same guidelines as for ISEC 2009 papers. The paper should explain the SIGNIFICANT contributions of their thesis, and point to published papers based on the thesis for more details. Authors should send their papers by email to Prof.Y.N. Srikant, Chair, DAMSYM 2009 to the email addresses: srikant AT csa.iisc.ernet.in or ynsrikant AT rediffmail.com.

Whether the degree has already been awarded, or all formalities needed to complete the degree have been completed (such as oral exam/project viva, etc.), in either case, a certficate to this effect, signed by the head of the department where the person studied, may be attached to the paper in scanned form (on a separate page).

Papers will be reviewed by competent referees and 5 theses will be selected from each category (Ph.D and Masters') for presentation in the Symposium. There will be a BEST Ph.D THESIS award and a BEST MASTERS' THESIS award.

All the authors from the Ph.D category, who have submitted a paper to DAMSYM will receive a free registration for ISEC 2009 and DAMSYM 2009 (irrespective of whether their paper has been accepted for presentation at DAMSYM 2009 or not). The authors from the Masters' category, whose papers have been selected for presentation at DAMSYM 2009 will also receive a free registration for ISEC 2009 and DAMSYM 2009.
