Avoiding Common Pitfalls
Use EPSILON, do not compare with zero
Do not compare with EPSILON blindly, sometimes > or < 0.0 is a better idea
Setup local coordiante system for each primitive
Do not calculate normal till necesarry
Do not calculate (u,v) parameters till necessary
Translations occur before rotations or vice-versa ... think before you do ...
Setup the camera coordinate system corretcly ... take care about the viewing direction
