I am super excited to be leading the multi-year collaboration between IIT Delhi and IBM to work on neuro-symbolic information systems. The aim of this partnership is to conduct research on novel techniques and systems which can help organizations and individuals to take informed decisions by being able to logically reason with their AI systems. With world-class faculty colleagues and brilliant students of the department, working closely with IBM researchers we plan to work in the areas of scalable and explainable reasoning, comprehension and inferencing that utilizes domain knowledge. In addition to publishing our results in top conferences and journals, we also plan to turn most of our work accessible through open-source contributions, open datasets and challenges to the research community.
