Lab 3: LaTex

This exercise requires each student to write small document/report in Latex. This exercise would need you to:

1. Create a pdf file from an example .tex file which can be taken from the Latex Tutorial. The file is available as Typical Latex Input file. The creation of pdf file would require the folowing
   • Copy the typical input file in an editor and save as a file say "test.tex".
   • Use the command "latex test.tex" which will create the file "test.dvi".
   • Use the command "dvipdf test.dvi test.pdf" which will create the pdf file which can be displayed through acrobat reader or evince.
2. Modify the input file to write a small report of your own using the above procedure and create a pdf file as output using the above procedure. Use the tutorial to find out what all can be done for the report you want to write.

The TA will help and guide you for the above exercise and will also do the evaluation of your work. You are required to finish the exercise during the lab time.
